Successful Pollutec Horizons nurtures a raft of technological innovations
Maintaining its role as a source of information, training and solutions, Pollutec Horizons highlighted advances in research and the latest innovations in all aspects of sustainable development.
In the course of his opening speech the French Minister for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Energy, Philippe Martin, highlighted the commitment, the vitality, the creativity and the innovation of the eco-industry companies for whom Pollutec Horizons 2013 provided such a unique show-case. This year’s show in Paris attracted 26,876 professional visitors, including 18% from abroad, and it demonstrated the tremendous energy of innovative majors, SMEs and start-ups across the whole spread of environment and sustainable development activities as well as just how interested professionals are in these challenges. All of this was apparent from the new products and services being shown by the 1,194 exhibitors, the talks and discussions that were followed by more than 7,300 attendees in the themed spaces and the TV Studio, as well as the various sets of awards presented at the show.
Maintaining its role as a source of information, training and solutions, Pollutec Horizons highlighted advances in research and the latest innovations in all aspects of sustainable development. These were to be seen both in all the show’s sectors (waste and recycling, water, analysis-measurementmonitoring, air, energy, sites and soils, biodiversity, risks…) and in the three areas on which the show was focusing this year - the Sustainable City, Sustainable Industry and Hospitals & Sustainable Development. These three areas of focus proved to be a major draw and reflected the considerable interest in these fields. Once again, there was an emphasis on advice and expertise, making Pollutec Horizons a real networking event for professionals from all areas of activity and providing them with real assistance in their projects.
One of the major emerging trends in the show’s visitor profile is that the majority of its visitors are decision makers and specifiers from the public and private sectors who are largely drawn from fields such as eco-activities, industry, consultancy and engineering, local and national authorities, energy, building and civil engineering. These decision makers and specifiers visited as part of their need to discover 2013’s innovations, to develop partnerships or to learn about sustainable development.
Overall, they departed satisfied with what they found at the show.
A number of specific initiatives generated numerous discussions between highly qualified participants.
