New recycling plant for the treatment of the organic in Pisa
It will be the first anaerobic plant for the treatment of the organic fraction of the waste in Tuscany.
In the province of Pisa, Geofor contracted the project for the construction of a plant for the treatment of organic waste and the production of biogas and compost. The structure will be built in Gello of Pontedera and can accommodate 44,000 tons of waste from kitchens and canteens, and approximately 9,000 tons per year cuttings and prunings.
The new plant will then replace the current one and will be the first anaerobic plant for the treatment of this waste in Tuscany. The refusal will be entirely confined within buildings maintained under negative pressure with exhaust air and sending it to a biofilter systems abatement maleodoranze. It will produce both electricity from waste in quantities of 11,000 MWh of electricity from the combustion of the biogas produced, and about 9,500 t / a of high quality compost.
