Green business, research and innovation at Pollutec Horizons

Green business, research and innovation at Pollutec Horizons

The cleantech, energy and sustainable development show that will take place from 3rd to 6th December 2013 at Paris Nord Villepinte (France) will be the meeting of the year for those involved in the environment and sustainable development

In essence, Pollutec Horizons will bring together all the major players working to green the economy and will present the latest developments in regulations and technologies in these fields. Building on the success enjoyed in 2012 by the Sustainable City and Sustainable Industry themes, the show’s organizers are bringing these two major themes back and are adding a third: environment/health interactions. Treated here in terms of professional demand, this is a subject that concerns each of us and that demands clear responses.
It will be covered by a new ‘Sustainable Health’ village involving recognized experts. Pollutec Horizons will also be hosting two headline events: “Le  CleanTech”, seminars and pitch sessions focusing this year on smart grids and the intelligent city, as well as the Green Business Meetings for the  environment, cleantech and energy organized by Enterprise Europe Network and the Paris Ile-de-France Region CCI. Finally, Pollutec Horizons 2013 will also be focusing on the cleantech of two Scandinavian countries - Sweden and Norway - as well as taking a look at South Korea, whose  economy has been committed to green growth since 2009.

A unique array of eco-innovative solutions

Whether it be goods, processes or services, innovative cleantech is a sine qua non for the green growth and competitiveness needed to relaunch the economy. Pollutec Horizons widely reflects this both through the numerous launches being staged by manufacturers, competitiveness clusters and other professionals exhibiting at the show and through the various awards, lectures, discussions and other high points planned in various venues, themed forums and the Pollutec TV studio. To round everything off, visits to ground-breaking sites will also be scheduled.

Three major themes: sustainable industry, city and health

Besides a dedicated sustainable industry forum, Pollutec Horizons will present a unique array of solutions across all its sectors designed to improve the performance of industrial processes, to reduce the use of resources and carbon emissions and to move towards the sustainable factory: eco design, heat or material recovery, substitution of materials by ones of plant origin,…

When it comes to the sustainable city or ‘living better in the city’ goals, the show will be organizing a forum and an exhibition zone that will highlight the latest developments in areas such as urban development, services for
citizens (water/sanitation, waste/recycling) eco-mobility, smart grids and energy solutions, as well as nature in the city, with the stress on ecological engineering and remediation. Very much in step with current developments, the new sustainable health village will be an opportunity to focus on the health impacts of environmental factors such as air pollution, reduced water and environmental quality, substances that give cause for concern and emerging risks – notably manufactured nanomaterials, electromagnetic fields, residues of drugs and endocrine disruptors. Various solutions to monitor and alleviate these impacts will also be presented and there will be an emphasis on approaches to sustainable development pursued in hospital environments in the presence of specialist players. By their very nature, these themes are cross sector and each will be the subject of a visitor trail traversing all the sectors of the show (water, air, energy, waste/recycling, sites and soils, analysis-measurement-monitoring, etc).
