MASOTINA and TOMRA Recycling: highly targeted plastic sorting boosts recycling volumes and purity

Based in Corsico in the Lombardy Region of Italy, MASOTINA S.p.A. operates one of Europe’s largest materials recovery facilities (MRFs) for the separation and recovery of plastic from municipal waste. The company uses 32 AUTOSORT® machines supplied by global sensor-based sorting specialist, TOMRA Recycling, to sort and recover high volumes of plastics primaily from single stream household waste collections, as well as some commercial waste. STADLER and TOMRA deliver the world’s first fully automated textile sorting plant in Malmö, Sweden

STADLER and TOMRA delivered the fully automated sorting plant for Sysav Industri AB, which sorts pre- and post-consumer mixed textile waste in southern Skåne, in Sweden. STADLER designed and built the plant, while TOMRA provided the NIR sorters. The plant is part of the Swedish Innovation Platform for Textile Sorting (SIPTex) government-funded project, which aims to develop a sorting solution tailored to the needs of textile recyclers and the garment industry.

Expansion of the Aciam composting plant: state-of-the-art technology

The project by Pal involves the expansion of the Aciam SpA plant located in Aielli (AQ) to strengthen the composting line, that moves from 25,000 t/year to 58,500 t/year, against a reduction in the capacity for the mechanical treatment of unsorted waste that moves from 58,500 t/year to 25,000 t/year, hence the overall authorization potential remains unchanged at 83,500 t/year.
