Ecomondo at the heart of the Horizon2020 community programme
The participation announced of Antonio Di Giulio, Acting Director of the Directorate General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission, for the presentation of the framework programme by means of which the European Union will finance industrial research andinnovation in the next seven years with 70 billion euros
The new ´Ecoinnovation´ area, which as of this year ECOMONDO (Rimini Fiera, November 6th – 9th) is dedicating specifically to European research and innovation, will be inaugurated by Antonio Di Giulio, Acting Director of the Directorate General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission.
The prospect is of an opportunity for an extraordinary boost for research and innovation activity, with community funding still 70 billion euros in the next seven years. This is a sector in which Europe and Italy can play a key role by means of top international-level innovations and with positive results for the areas hit by the crisis.
The meeting on Friday November 8th (regarding this, see press release 9) will therefore turn the spotlight on Horizon2020, the Union´s programme for financing research and innovation. There will be presentations of the industrial research priorities and the main actions fielded by the public/private partnerships: BRIDGE, regarding bio-industries, and SPIRE, dedicated to efficient use of resources and exploitation of waste. Descriptions will also be given of the main action fielded by the ´Water´ and ´Raw Materials´ European Innovation Partnerships as well as the Knowledge Innovation Communities already in activity (´Climate´) or being prepared (´Raw Materials´, ´Food4Future´), which are promoting research, innovation and training, as well as European competitiveness, with the direct involvement of private enterprises.
