Recycleye Launches QuantiSort® 2.0: A Revolutionary AI Optical Sorter Designed for Modern Waste Streams

Recycleye Launches QuantiSort® 2.0: A Revolutionary AI Optical Sorter Designed for Modern Waste Streams

Recycleye unveils QuantiSort® 2.0, the next generation of its AI-powered optical sorting technology, engineered to push the boundaries of material recognition, ejection precision and operational intelligence for modern waste streams. The QuantiSort 2.0 is designed to meet the sorting needs of WEEE & Metal, DMR and Construction & Demolition waste streams.

With 23 QuantiSort® 1.0 sorters already deployed in the field, the QuantiSort® 2.0 is the culmination of 7 years of on-site learnings applying AI to waste. As every installation contributes to dataset growth, performance continues to strengthen over time. At an upcoming install, 5 QuantiSort® 2.0 will be deployed without the need for any quality control cabins.

Smarter AI. Greater Granularity.

QuantiSort® 2.0 is powered by enhanced AI models trained on a significantly expanded dataset, enabling operators to unlock new levels of material granularity. The AI model can differentiate between materials previously thought to be impossible to sort. These include:

  • DMR: Food vs non-food, aluminium cans vs aluminium foils, black plastics vs black rubber, silicon cartridges, LLDPE vs LDPE
  • C&D: Wood A vs wood B, asphalt vs concrete vs stone vs brick vs gypsum, small stone clean-up
  • WEEE/Metal: aluminium wrought vs cast, copper wire extraction, PCBs by gold content, batteries
  • Glass: colour sort, contamination removal

Enhanced Ejection for Precise Results

QuantiSort® 2.0 features a redesigned, patented ejection system. The pneumatic ejection bar is fitted with the SpiralShield® nozzle which allows for higher ejection power, simplicity in maintenance and robustness in harsh environments. The valve protection system has gone from having 1500 fittings to just 3 machined parts. With a focus on maintenance, Recycleye has engineered the Valve Block Positioning System with automated positioning included as a standard for faster cleaning sequences and easier maintenance rounds.

Built for Real-World Waste

QuantiSort® 2.0 is built to perform in dust, moisture and changing ambient light conditions. TÜV certification ensures straightforward integration into existing lines, with belt widths of 1200mm, 2000mm and 2800mm available. The system can be configured with split belt feeds, allowing multiple sorts on a single conveyor to improve efficiency. Operating at up to 4.5 m/s, QuantiSort® 2.0 introduces the world-first NoRoll® optical solution, enabling high-capacity sorting without the strict belt cleanliness requirements of NIR systems.

Advanced Control and Data Visibility

A redesigned control panel features a touchscreen with an intuitive interface and multiple user levels, from simple on/off operation to advanced stream management. With processing speeds reaching 28 billion calculations per second, the system delivers faster decision-making with lower energy consumption. Operators also gain access to Recycleye’s online analytics dashboard, which provides detailed compositional analysis and unit performance monitoring. Recycleye’s customer service teams have access to these dashboards and monitor material streams daily, enabling proactive support and responsive aftermarket care when needed. Together, this creates a fully data-driven approach to material recovery operations.

QuantiSort® 2.0 represents a step change in AI optical sorting, combining smarter recognition, precision ejection, industrial resilience and actionable data in one powerful platform.
