Buzzi Unicem S.p.A. presents the Solidur family and Next line
Two of the company's top products are Solidur®, a ready-to-use premix, and Next, an innovative category of hydraulic binders.
Buzzi Unicem is an international multi-regional group focused on cement, ready-mix concrete and aggregates. The company is distinguished for its long history in the industry and long-term view of the business, with a majority shareholder backed by a professional management team who are dedicated to the continued pursuit of excellence. The goal of the group is to create long-lasting value through industrial know-how, operational efficiency and careful cost management.
Buzzi Unicem operates in 12 countries, with 32 cement plants, a production capacity of approximately 38m tons of cement and 14m m3 of concrete.
Two of the company's top products are Solidur®, a ready-to-use premix, and Next, an innovative category of hydraulic binders.
Solidur® consists of cementitious mineral binders and clay and bentonite components as well as special additives. Supplied as a powder, the plastic form is prepared at the worksite by mixing it quickly with water without any extra additives. Using high-speed mixers with automatic dispensers, it takes just a few minutes to obtain a stable, self-hardening, ready-to-use mix suitable for waterproofing applications in the hydraulic engineering sector, and for securing contaminated sites in particular because it is very resistant to chemical attack.
The Next line is an innovative category of hydraulic binders whose production cycle generates approximately 30% savings in energy usage and CO2 emissions compared to traditional Portland cements, thus offering greater environmental protection. The hardening process of these products is actually due mainly to the hydration reaction of calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA), unlike Portland and aluminum cements which harden after the hydration of the calcium silicates and calcium aluminates.
Next binders are used in the premix and precast sectors, where rapid setting, rapid strength development, low temperature usage, low shrinkage and resistance to sulfates properties are needed.
