Sono 357 gli impianti che trattano rifiuti a matrice organica e che producono compost e biogas; oltre il 65% della frazione umida viene riciclato attraverso processi integrati che includono una fase di digestione anaerobica. Dal riciclo dei rifiuti a matrice organica, sono state prodotte circa 1,9 milioni di tonnellate di compost e 409 milioni di metri cubi di biogas, valorizzati mediante la produzione di 167 milioni di metri cubi di biometano, 411 GWh di energia elettrica e 169 GWh di energia termica.
